The Life Of A Writer

Never in a million years did I think that I would enjoy writing. I think a lot of that has to do with NanoWriMo this year. Yes, Im behind by a few thousand words (okay, so maybe a little more than a 'few thousand words') but I still am motivated to reach that 50,000. Like being behind is giving me motivation to sit down each night and write and write until I hit my goal. And besides Nano I have started to write some more fanfiction that I am actually very proud of. There is nothing better than sitting there and writing and watching your story and your characters come to life right before your eyes. I never thought I would be the one to sit down each night and write but now I am and I love it.
There is nothing better than huddled in your oversized pajamas with a steaming cup of coffee or hot coco with some funky new reading classes and your story that has become in a way your baby. Staying up to wee hours of the morning because that is when your best writing happens. I love it so much. Maybe this is something I could do on the side, you know become a writer. I think I would like that a whole lot. And once December comes that is when I will start to edit my Nano story and than who knows. Maybe I can send it out to publishing companies and go from there. The thought of getting some of my work publish has became yet another dream for me. So here is to writing and finished my novel before the end of November.

Spring Awakening in Detroit[April 24th, 2010]

Sooo, Sara and I went to Detroit yesterday to see Spring Awakening and we had stage seats! She sat in bb13 and I was in bb11 and let me just say that i ADORE BB11. Haha. Lucas sat behind us and I nearly peed my pants. Whenever Lucas would sing I would find myself listening to him instead of everyone else, his voice is just amazing. But now onto everything is order. Haha. So when the cast first came out Anthony was the first to sit next to me, he gave me a smile as he sat down and that was awesome. Let me just say that Anthony has no personal space whatso ever. Lol. He was right against me and when he started stomping during Mama Reprise he kept bumping into me which was kind of funny. He gets so into the show it was funny.

I think instead of going through the whole show Im going to just type about who sat next to me and the funny moments that happened. The next person to sit to me was Ben, hes so adorable. His harmonies during My Junk was to die for, espically since he was sitting right next to me singing it. haha. Oh and after the reformatory scene he was trying to hurry and take off his jacket and hat and he hit me with them. I love Ben and his amazing voice, I got to sit next to him for a few songs which was nice. Oh and he sat next to me during The Guilty ones and psssh need I say more? That kid is amazing.

Lets see, who else sat next to me? Oh Kimiko sat next to me for a few minutes after My Junk (I think). Nothing really happened while she sat next to me but shes a sweetie so thats fine. Oh, oh during My Junk Steffi D was next to Sara and she was singing along and she sounded beautiful as well. And Taylor's harmonies during My Junk was breath taking, I love that kid so so so much! Oh, while im on the topic of My Junk lets talk about that piano scene with Matt and Angie. Lol, that was so hilarious and there was a lot of little things they did during it that you really dont notice during the scene. I watched them the whole time during My Junk, it was just so freaking hilarious.

Than I sat next to Robi for a bit, I really enjoyed him a lot. His voice is killer and sooooo much better than Andy's voice. And the Vineyard scene was much better in my opinion. With Andy he always made that scene more comical than anything and with Robi his Hanschen seemed to actually care about Ernst and truly seemed in love with him. And usually the kiss between the two of them gets a lot of laughs but it was just so sweet between Robi and Ben and no one laughed at it. So that was really nice. But funny story with Robi, at the beginning of act 2 the priest is saying his lecture and than he liked screamed which caused not only me to jump but Robi as well. And he busted out laughing which made me laugh, so The Guilty Ones is going on and me and Robi are like dying of laughter during the whole thing.
Im too lazy to write about anything else but I wanted to write about the stage door really quick. We were talking to Anthony when he came out and he was like "you guys look familiar, youve seen the show before havent you?". So that was cool that he remembered us from previous shows. And than Jake came out and he was like "You guys were sitting on stage!" and than he introduced himself to us so that was pretty cool. But yeah, nothing else to really say, I cant wait to take Kelly again Saturday to see it which will also be my last time seeing it.

Cincinnatti Trip! (Jan.17th)

So being the impulsive person that I am I decided that I wanted to go to Cincinnatti and see Spring Awakening, so I did on Sunday with Sara. I went to bed around midnight the night before and was up at 5am, which really sucked considering I had to drive four hours to and back from Cincinnatti. Haha. And on the drive down there it was soooo foggy but I am proud to say that I can now drive in thick fog and not freak out. We left at about 7am and got there at 11:30am which was awesome because the show was at 1pm. So it gave us time to eat and all that good stuff. Im so used to older theaters and the Arnoff was actually quite new and modern so that was a bit different. Also our seats we were really good, row z of the orchastra. We almooost got stage seats! Sara talked to the house manager and told her if there was any open on stage seats we would sit there. And the lady was really nice but the people finally did show up so we didnt get to sit on stage but it was fun and got us hyped up for the show waiting to see if we would get the on stage seats or not. Im not for sure what else to say so I guess I will write a review on the people/songs that stood out and the ones that I actually remember. Haha. Oh! Our swings for the show was Krista/Chase and than Krystina/Justin! So it was cool to see two of the new swings on, espically Justin, not so much Krista. Haha. Anyways.... Review time for those who want to read!

Christy: As soon as she started you could tell she was sick and her voice cracked a few times when she was delivering her lines. But even being sick she was still amazing. She has improved so so much since the first time I saw in Cleveland and her voice is just beautiful. She is so much fun to watch perform. And the chemistry between jake and her is just amazing.

Anthony: You could tell that he was also sick but let me tell you, that boy can sing. He killed his 'touch me' solo, it was so beautiful. And he did his infamous one handed cartwheel during 'totally fucked'. Otto is such a smaller character but he makes it so rememberable and hes tons of fun to watch. We had a nice talk with him at the stage door about his hand and how it was doing and what not.

Kimiko: I was highly impressed with her. Its been a while since I saw her as Thea and she did not disappoint. Her voice is getting so much better and her radical line was so cute! I think she is growing a lot in her role and shes just a sweetheart.

Sarah: The girl is just amazing and beautiful. She rocks out so much and her voice just blows me away. Also this was the first time that i cried during "The Dark I Know Well" thats how much emotion I could feel from her during the song.

Steffi D: I want to be best friends with her please. Lol. She rocked out sooo much! Haha, shes so great to watch. And she loved our hair bows that we had in. We had a nice talk with her about the last show in Chicago. I loved her DDS/BW with Taylor, it was so heart breaking. I think the two of them really feed off one another during the song and its just...wonderful.

Jake: I love this kid as Melchior. His vocals have improved so much. He killed "All Thats Known" I was so impressed. And he changed his Melchior a lot. Which makes later scenes more of a wow factor. I was really impressed with his new charazation of Melchior, hes more subtle in the beginning of the play and like I said it makes one scene just mind blowing when it finally happens. And hes another sweetheart at the stagedoor. We talked about his character change of Melchior and also about the lighting in the show because that changed a lot. You can tell that hes so greatful to have this role and loves what hes doing.

Andy: Sup massive creeper Hanschen? Gahh, his new Hanschen is such a creeper and its great contrast to Ben's shy and innocent Ernst. Ohh man his line about huddling over Homer who priceless. And the Vineyard scene was just great. Not to mention that his voice has improved so much.

Ben 2.0: this kid is too cute for words. And his "touch me" soul was heavenly. He sung it and Sara and I turned to look at each other and mouthed "wow". His Ernst is pretty much the same way ben moss played the character. But he was still cute and did a wonderful job.

Gabby:...Hi please go away? Her line about her children growing free got much much worse. I wish I had something postive to say about her but I dont. Also her and krista hide under an umbrella and rushed passed the stage door line.

Justin: He was tons of fun to watch! Kid went crazy and it was cool to see some of the new swings. And hes nice to look at as well and sweet at the stage door.

Krista:..Hello Gabby Jr. She was just on for a swing but still. I dunno, I think I have to see her in role before I can make a judgement.

Chase/Krystina: Our other swings. Theyre nice, I like them. Haha, I dont know what to say about them.

Shishi: Impressed with him, his voice is getting much better as well.

and the review I have been dying to write about:

Taylor "Taytay" Trensch: Can i please put this kid in my car and take him home with me? His Moritz was so so so different Blake's and I was glad. He looks so small and awkward and I love it. He really does look 14 up there on that stage. His Moritz is just so awkward and doesnt try to be happy or try to fit in like Blakes Moritz did. From his first line you could tell this kid was disturbed and hurting. He made the character of Moritz his own. Not to mention his vocals were killer. I was really impressed. And i loved the way that he used the mic. He would pick it up and thrash it around in a lot of the more rock songs and I thought that was very cool. His "I passed" dance was so cute; it wasnt what Blakes dance was like and I was very glad for that. Now, his DDS was just heartbreaking. My god. With Blake I felt like I always wanted to stop his Moritz from killing himself but with Taylors you feel just helpless, that no matter what you say or what you do wont make a difference. That the kid has made his mind up to end his own life and thats what he intends to do. Taylors Moritz just gives you this feelins of helplessness, you know that he is hurting and like I said no matter what you say or do wont change his mind. His scene was Ilse was so haunting. He was so withdrawn and you could tell that he really didnt care she was there and was trying to possibly help save his life. And than his monologue came and I just had tears rolling down my face. It was so haunting. The way he said, "I'll tell them Im ready to be an angel now" killed me. You got the sense that he was done with everything and didnt want his life anymore. Blake will always be my Moritz but Taylor was so good. and his "so darks" started out quiet and than he yelled out the last one and ended it. I can not wait to see him again in this role. and he so sweet and down to Earth. he also liked Sara's and I bows. Haha. But overall I was very impressed with this kid.

Oh my poor, poor blog. I'm sorry I have abandoned you these last few days. I've been having this thing called a life and it requires me to be away from the computer. I promise not to make a habit out of it or anything. Really. Pinky Promise. Now I feel better that I have apologized to my blog (and of course you poor poor people who subject yourselves to read this). Like I said I've been having this thing called a life, it's been real nice. Treating me nicely, taking me out to dinners and long romantic walks on the beach. Sensual nights in the.....well you get the picture. Kelly and I went to the beach and were rebels and climb over the wall thing blocking us from our beloved beach. Than Steph and Kelly came and kidnapped me. Than I went bowling with Sara, Jolynn, and Brittany. I think I did some other things this week but I'm not for sure. Oh! Oh! I also went to school this week, well okay minus Thursday but I was sick and still am sick! Sad Face! So this week: I'm off till Saturday so I will be spending hours upn hours in the dark room trying to get my photography portfolio together. Which means I will spend money I dont have on film and paper to get this portfolio done which also means I will have to actually go out and take pictures. Boo. I also need to write my two essays that are way pass due. I will also work on my creative writing final story conflict whatever it is piece thingy. AND THAN IM GOING TO SEE WICKED!! AHH! So excited. And on top of that Im calling Detroit to see if there are any stage seats left for Spring Awakening. So so so so so excited.

Okay, I'm sleepy.
Bye-bye.

Nanowrimo

Alright, so November is National Novel Writing Month, I try to do this every November. Pretty much the goal is to write a novel (50,000 words) in November. Anywho, it's only day what 5? And I'm stuck. So I'm going to post what I have so far and than I want any and all feed back from you. Tell me what you think, plot ideas, anything. :)

Having grown up in a small Christian Georgia town, Duncan was used to disapproving looks. Whether if was from his father when he told him he would be playing the lead role in the school musical. Or from his peers that were around when he turned the head cheerleader, Judy Carmichael down when she asked him to Prom. So the glares that he was receiving from the two red haired ladies walking pass the theater as he kissed his boyfriend Chase had no affect on him what so ever. He watched as Chase disappeared behind the theater doors before shoving his hands into his pockets and heading down 7th Avenue. Duncan had met Chase right after he had moved into the city; he was sitting in the waiting room at a casting office when Chase walked in. Instantly he was drawn to him; startled by his brilliant green eyes and wind swept blonde hair. Duncan, who had only been in New York for two weeks was taken somewhat aback when Chase walked over and sat down next to him. One glance at each other and the conversation flowed effortlessly, that was until Chase was called into the directors office. He later would find out that Chase had received the part he too was auditioning for. Usually he would have been bothered by this news but a week later Chase asked him on a date and the rest was history. The part that he wanted was gone but he had a new opportunity in a new city with the most gorgeous boy he had ever seen.
Back in his small East Village apartment Duncan threw his coat on the floor and made his way to the small and very outdated kitchen; his two cats, Nodsey and Tubbs rubbed against his leg begging for food and attention. Opening his fridge he placed a bowl of day old tuna on the floor to keeps the cats busy as he began to dig for something that looked some what edible for himself. To his surprised he found a block of cheese that was only a week and a half passed the expiration date to him finding something this fresh was a treat. With the cheese in hand he moved to the pantry and removed the few pieces of bread covered in mold until he found two pieces the were untainted. He quickly made a grilled cheese and was surprised at how un burnt it was considering he didn’t have any butter to put in the pan.

Thaaanks!!
